The Jaguars can feel good about the outcome of Super Bowl LVII
The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the eventual 2023 Super Bowl Champions just a few weeks ago. The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in a triumphant victory in Super Bowl LVI. It was an electric game despite a subpar halftime performance.
Things didn’t go well for the Chiefs to start the game, however, as the Eagles got out to a fast lead and didn’t look like they were going to be stopped. Everyone saw them as the favorite because of the fact that they had the better roster of the two teams by far.
With that in mind, they don’t have Patrick Mahomes who is quickly becoming one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. He has now been in three Super Bowls and won two of them in his five-year NFL career.
He also has two other AFC Championship appearances which is wildly impressive. There should be no doubt that he will be in contention for the Super Bowl every year for a very long time. Tom Brady just retired and he already has someone chasing him for the GOAT title.
The Jacksonville Jaguars might be able to hang with the Kansas City Chiefs.
As for the Jaguars, they almost beat this outstanding team with this outstanding quarterback. The game wasn’t pretty but they had a chance to win it late. A few mistakes stood in the way of them and a chance to play in the Super Bowl.
If they have a big off-season starting now, they could be the team challenging the Chiefs for the next decade or so. Trevor Lawrence might not be Patrick Mahomes but he is still very good. If they can find a way to surround him with some more talent on both sides of the ball, they can win.
Jacksonville can also learn from this Eagles team as well. Jalen Hurts isn’t making the big money contract yet and his team has an elite roster around him as a result. The Jaguars can try to take advantage of the fact that Trevor Lawrence is cheap for now as well.
Once Lawrence is making more money, we can only hope that he is close to being as good as Mahomes who can carry a team far. Now that the Super Bowl is over, it is time to move into this incredibly huge off-season.
