Former Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster sent shockwaves when he said that the NFL was scripted. That’s right, Foster said on the Macrodosing podcast that players spent time learning the script, not a playbook. The comment was meant as a joke and it went on to inspire funny reactions and memes around the league. Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne caught wind of it and shared his response on Twitter.

Etienne shared footage of New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara scoring six rushing touchdowns in a regular-season game, tied for the most in league history. Again, Foster was joking but there’s no doubt every running back in the NFL would like to have a performance as amazing as Kamara’s.

In spite of how productive Etienne was for the Jaguars last year, he only logged one multi-touchdown game. It came against the Las Vegas Raiders last year when he toted the rock 28 times for 109 yards with two rushing touchdowns. Looking back, that was one of his best outings of the season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a favorable script in 2022

Nobody in their right mind sincerely thinks the NFL is rigged. Players would oppose it. After all, who is going to willingly tear his ACL or break his ankle? Moreover, there would be so many people involved that there’s no way the league would be able to keep it a secret. If you don’t believe it, share a rumor at your workplace and see how easily it spreads.

On the off chance the NFL was scripted, the Jags surely loved their part for the 2022 season. Making the playoffs and winning the division? What team wouldn’t want that kind of script? On the other hand, it was only fair after enduring so many disappointing seasons.

Foster didn’t probably expect his comments to go viral but that’s how things played out. Either way, the Jags wouldn’t mind getting a script as good as the one they got last season.
