The most likely route to the Super Bowl for the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are going on to the divisional round! They came back from being 27 down to the Los Angeles Chargers to snatch victory from the hands of defeat. It was one of the most unreal performances that you’ll ever see from a team in the postseason.
Jacksonville isn’t known for being a winning franchise but this win might change everything for them forever. Even if they lose to the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend, they had an unexpectedly amazing offseason that included a division title and a playoff win in comeback fashion.
Going on the road and beating the Chiefs would be the most impressive thing that this team could possibly do this season. If they did that, you’d have to think that they can go on and win the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.
Speaking of the Super Bowl, the road there is incredibly hard for every team in the AFC. The NFC isn’t strong right now but the Jaguars are in the conference where things are very tough right now. When the AFC champion is crowned, they will deserve everyone’s respect for getting through it.
Lawrence is getting very good and he is the lowest-ranked quarterback left in the AFC which speaks volumes about who is left.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the final eight NFL teams this season.
In order for the Jaguars to reach that point, this is the most likely route:
Division Round
In the division round, the Jaguars will take on that incredibly tough Chiefs team. They have to be seen as the best team in the NFL. They have the best quarterback in the world surrounded by the best group of weapons in the league.
In order to beat Patrick Mahomes’s team, you need to score a lot of points. Obviously, Lawrence is capable of doing that but getting more points than Mahomes has been hard for everyone since he stepped into the league.
AFC Championship Game
If the Jaguars find a way to beat the Chiefs, they will face the winner of the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. At this point in time, it feels like a game that the Bengals are going to win.
Buffalo has just gotten worse as the season went along and they rely on their star quarterback Josh Allen way too much. If the Bills do somehow win, the Jaguars would need to just find a way to contain Allen because his pure dominance is the only way that the Bills can win.
In order to beat the Bengals, they need to take advantage of their one weakness. The Bengals played the first 15 games of the season with the same offensive line and they were awesome. However, they have lost three of those starters to injuries which have been tough on them.
If they can get Joe Burrow moving around uncomfortably, they can beat them as long as Lawrence’s group can play well. Jacksonville’s defensive line would need to have the game of their life against this now-weak Bengals offensive line in order to go to the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl
In the NFC, the New York Giants are getting ready to face the Philadelphia Eagles while the Dallas Cowboys are getting ready for the San Francisco 49ers. Of course, the 49ers and the Eagles are viewed as the two best teams left in that conference.
Now, it is clear that San Francisco has the best chance of that group reaching the Super Bowl. If that is who the Jaguars would face if they made it, it would certainly be a tough test.
Brock Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Iowa State. Now, he could be the first rookie to ever lead his team to the Super Bowl. In order to beat them, the Jaguars would have to make him very nervous and uncomfortable on the world’s biggest stage.
That is the most likely scenario for the Jacksonville Jaguars if they are going to win the whole thing for the first time ever. Even if they don’t, with the young growing team that they have, they will be back in this position again soon.
