Jaguars vs. Chargers: 3 best prop best for Super Wild Card Weekend
The Jacksonville Jaguars finished the 2022 season strong and they’re now set to play the Los Angeles Chargers in Super Wild Card Weekend. You would think that the Jags are favored to win the game given that the game will be held at TIAA Bank Field and they already beat the Bolts in Week 3. However, that’s not the case.
Then again, Jacksonville has enough weapons on offense to put points on the scoreboard and their defense played much better in the second half of the regular season, so nobody should be surprised if they advance to the divisional round of the playoffs. With that in mind, here are three prop bets you might like for Super Wild Card Weekend.
3 enticing prop bets for Jaguars vs. Chargers in Super Wild Card Weekend
3. Trevor Lawrence, over 246 passing yards (-105)
Trevor Lawrence’s production in 2022 is a reflection of his growth as a quarterback. He threw three touchdowns or more four times in the regular season. Similarly, he registered over 300 passing yards in four games. On the other hand, he threw for less than 250 yards in five different instances, and four of those were losses.
The Chargers’ defense ranked seventh in passing yards allowed in the regular season but Lawrence had success against them in Week 3, throwing 262 yards with three touchdowns. He’s improved since then, so crossing the 246-yard mark seems realistic. And if you think he’ll get over 300, the odds of him doing so sit at +310.
2. Zay Jones, anytime touchdown (+200)
Wide receiver Zay Jones had a relatively slow start to the regular season but he became progressively more involved, hauling in 39 receptions for 453 yards with four touchdowns in the last eight weeks.
On any given day, tight end Evan Engram, Christian Kirk, or Zay Jones will have a monster game depending on the matchup. If you think Jones’ turn will come against Los Angeles, the odds of picking to score sit at +200.
1. Travis Etienne scores and the Jaguars win (+210)
One of the keys to beating the Chargers will be to get the running game going. The Jags had success on the ground against them in Week 3 but James Robinson was the top running back then. Now, they’ll lean on Travis Etienne.
While the Jags have at times struggled to establish the run, Etienne should be able to break off a few big runs and find the end zone against a Los Angeles run defense that ranked 28th in rushing yards allowed in the regular season. Similarly, Jacksonville has a legitimate chance to come on top despite the fact that they’re an underdog, so picking Etienne to score and the Jaguars to win seems like a safe bet.
