In the words of Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Zay Jones, the Detroit Lions are a gritty team and he isn’t wrong. They take after Dan Campbell, a no-nonsense head coach who isn’t known for Xs and Os but rather for his ability to successfully lead a group of young men.

The Lions got off to a slow start this season, going 1-6 in their first seven games. But they’ve managed to right the ship a bit since then, winning three games in the last four weeks. They’re coming off a loss to the Buffalo Bills, so they’ll be motivated to beat the Jags to get back in the win column.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville has won two of their last three games and will try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. With that in mind, here are five Lions they must account for if they want to come out of Week 13 with a victory.

No. 5 Lion the Jaguars must account for in Week 13: Jeff Okudah, CB

Cornerback Jeff Okudah, the third overall pick in the 2020 Draft, had a couple of rough seasons to start his NFL career. The former Ohio State Buckeye appeared in nine games with six starts before a core muscle injury cut his rookie season short. Things didn’t get much better in his sophomore campaign, playing just one game after tearing his Achilles in Week 1.

But Okudah has bounced back in Year 3 and has gone on to make 10 starts. Although the Lions’ secondary isn’t faring particularly well right now, he’s logged one interception, five passes defensed, and one forced fumble. For the season, he’s only allowed a touchdown and could make it difficult for the Jags’ offense to score Sunday.
