You won’t often hear the Baltimore Ravens being discussed as one of the best teams in the NFL right now, but they have the best record in the AFC North ahead of Week 12. They will face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12 and will try to win their eight game of the 2022 season.

Lamar Jackson is no doubt the Ravens’ best player. A first-round pick in the 2018 draft, he keeps defensive coordinators awake looking for ways to slow him down. He’s has improved as a passer and keeps defenses on their toes due to his ability to run the ball.

Although stopping Jackson will be the Jaguars’ top priority in Week 12, he isn’t the only Ravens player they need to keep an eye on.

With that in mind, here are five Ravens players Jacksonville must contain.

No. 5 Raven the Jaguars must silence in Week 12: Patrick Mekari, LT

NFL players are always one injury away from seeing the football field and nagging injuries to left tackle Ronnie Stanley have paved the way for Patrick Mekari to play. After going undrafted in 2019, the former California Golden Bear signed with the Ravens and has become an important depth piece on their offensive line.

Mekari has the versatility to play on either side of the line and will most likely start in Stanley’s place in Week 12. He’s already made two starts this season and has a healthy 73.3 Pro Football Focus grade. Jaguars outside linebacker Josh Allen has been relatively quiet this year but has a favorable matchup against the Ravens. If there’s a game in which he needs to come through, this is it.
