Trash talk is common in sports but you could make the case that Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce crossed the line when he questioned the passion of Jacksonville Jaguars fans. Sure, you could make fun of the Jags for how inept they were for most of the 2010s but it’s a whole different deal to say they don’t have passionate fans because that’s not the case.

The truth is that Jaguars fans can rival those from Philadelphia or New York. It’s just that the team they happen to root for wasn’t very good but that has changed in 2022 due to the arrival of head coach Doug Pederson and the steady development of quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Speaking of Pederson, he will get to face the team he coached from 2016 to 2022 but leaving Lincoln Financial Field with a win won’t be easy as Philadelphia is currently 3-0 and will arguably provide a tougher challenge than the one the Los Angeles Chargers and the Indianapolis Colts offered the past two weeks.

With that in mind, here are five Eagles the Jaguars will need to contain in Week 4 if they want to earn their third win in a row.

Look, Jason Kelce had nothing but good things to say about Pederson when he talked to the media, and why wouldn’t he? He played for him and was part of the Eagles team that beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52.

However, both Kelce and Pederson will be opponents for 60 minutes Sunday. They won’t take the field and fight each other. Instead, Kelce will be anchoring Philadelphia’s offensive line in 2022 after contemplating retirement in the offseason.

Looking back, it’s a good thing Kelce put off his decision to hang up the cleats, as he’s still playing at a high level. The four-time First-Team All-Pro center has posted a Pro Football Focus overall grade of 77.0 and has allowed just one total pressure the last three games. It’s fair to say that the Jaguars’ interior defensive line might have a hard time getting after Jalen Hurts if he keeps performing the way he has.
