The Jacksonville Jaguars have won a combined 15 games over the last four seasons, which is not the kind of record any NFL team would be proud of. Hence, it wasn’t shocking to see them make significant changes to their coaching staff and the roster over the last few months.

But in spite of all the upgrades the Jags have made over, you will be hard-pressed to find someone who thinks they will win more than eight games. Either way, they should take several steps in the right direction under head coach Doug Pederson. With that in mind, here are five dream scenarios for the 2022 NFL regular season.

5. The Jaguars running backs total 2,000 yards in 2022

Travis Etienne is ready to make an impact after missing his rookie campaign with a Lisfranc Injury. He hasn’t had any setbacks in his recovery and has had no limitations in practice. The coaching staff will most likely lean on him while fellow running back James Robinson continues his rehab from the torn Achilles he suffered late in the 2021 season.

The Jaguars’ brass thought highly enough of Etienne that they selected him with the 25th overall pick of last year’s draft. And if the former Clemson Tiger can gain yards in chunks the way he did at the collegiate level, it will be hard to second guess the team’s decision to invest a first-round selection in a running back.

Etienne should hold the fort while Robinson gets healthy and once that happens, they could form a lethal backfield tandem. After all, Robinson was pretty productive last season and if he hadn’t gotten injured and the previous coaching staff hadn’t misused him (two big ifs), he would have been finished the years as one of the top running backs in the league.

Moreover, the Jags have rookie Snoop Conner and Ryquell Armstead. Although neither one will have a feature role, they should be able to contribute in 2022. If Etienne and Robinson manage to stay healthy, a combined 2,000 yards rushing might not be out of reach.
