The Jacksonville Jaguars have won a combined 15 games over the last four seasons. Thus, it wasn’t particularly earth-shattering news that they only got one primetime game in 2022, their Week 16 matchup against the New York Jets.

However, just because there won’t be many primetime games on the Jaguars’ schedule doesn’t mean they won’t have many entertaining games. In fact, you should mark these four on the calendar

No. 1 must intriguing game on Jaguars schedule: Week 13 @ Lions.

The Detroit Lions are in the second year of the Dan Campbell era. Although they only won three games in 2021, they’re seen as a sleeper candidate to make the playoffs. Looking at their offseason moves and the culture Campbell is trying to install, it’s hard to disagree.

One thing that became evident last season is that the Lions played hard under Campbell regardless of the level of competition. And he recently told the media that he wants to avoid floaters — players that are just going through the motions — and instead is looking for players that are all in.

The Lions didn’t make as many offseason moves as the Jaguars but they made several key additions. Wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. turned down lucrative long-term contracts in free agency and opted for a one-year, prove-it deal to play in Detroit. Moreover, they drafted a couple of potential franchise cornerstones in edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson and wide receiver Jameson Williams.

The Jaguars can’t afford to take the Lions lightly and it will be fun to compare how to teams that are rebuilding fare against each other.
