No. 4 Packer that could follow Hackett to the Jaguars – Davante Adams

If wide receiver Davante Adams hits free agency, he would be the gem of this year’s class. However, the Green Bay Packers know the kind of difference-maker he is, so they might not let him walk away and could slap him with the franchise tag.

If Adams does become a free agent, he should be at the top of the Jaguars’ wish list. The 2020 All-Pro nod is one of the top wideouts in the NFL, so he should have no trouble commanding a premium rate in the open market. Spotrac predicts he could get a four-year deal worth $58 million ($14.5 million average per year). Jacksonville will have more than enough cap space (around $71 million) to bid for his services.

It’s hard to blame the Packers for wanting to retain Adams. He’s Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target, catching 581 receptions for 7,192 yards and 69 touchdowns over the last six years. The Jaguars need to build around Trevor Lawrence this offseason and Adams is the best player they could get him in free agency.

Out of all the Packers free agents that could follow Nathaniel Hackett to Jacksonville, Adams may be the least likely to join him. Nevertheless, the Jaguars much shoot for the moon and pursue the wide receiver regardless of how difficult it may be to land him.
