Jaguars decision to keep Trent Baalke has unexpected benefit
Is the retaining of Trent Baalke good for the Jacksonville Jaguars and their fan base?
Hear me out now, as this is most likely an unpopular take. What if keeping general manager Trent Baalke is a blessing in disguise for the Jaguars? After all, it seems like their fan base has found a reason to bond and rally together.
The Jaguars fanbase has had to endure hard times for most of the years of the franchise’s existence. As great as the 2017 season was, there haven’t been many moments to celebrate. If owner Shad Khan wants to turn things around, he will need to make meaningful changes to the organization and that of course includes cutting ties with Baalke.
Most (if not all) of Khan’s past personnel moves have backfired and by keeping Baalke around, it appears that he continues to make some drastic mistakes that have kept the Jags in the AFC South cellar over the last four years. Fans aren’t happy about it and they’re making their voices heard with the clown movement.
The decision to keep Trent Baalke has united Jaguars fans.
You may or may not like the fact that Trent Baalke will be involved with the future of the franchise. However, you will not be able to ignore how loud the Khlown movement has become and the positive impact it may have in the long run.
In an era of instant gratification, we are expecting a quick turnover when the franchise seems to be in a rut. There are 31 other NFL franchises that experience different challenges that they must try to overcome. The one thing that makes the NFL special is the love for your team and the bond you create with other fans because of it. We band together through the good times and the bad.
I for one like seeing that the compassion for the franchise is coming from those that did not always have that voice. If you consider the support that the teams like the Green Bay Packers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Dallas Cowboys have, this could be something that could be good for the franchise that is in need of a desperate push to relevance.
Maybe this is the circus that the city of Jacksonville needs. The Khlown movement can be viewed from any angle. What direction do you view this movement as?
