This pick should be a given. The Jaguars have a lot of needs to address in the 2021 NFL Draft but they have the opportunity to draft their potential franchise quarterback first overall. The only thing getting in the way of the Jaguars making this pick at this point is—the Jaguars. They could overthink this selection and draft Justin Fields instead or decide to trade down and pick up more picks.

Round 1, 25th overall

With the Jaguars unsure whether or not to re-sign impending free agent Cam Robinson, Jacksonville has to draft an offensive tackle early on to develop alongside their new quarterback. Don’t set up your young quarterback for failure—take every measure you can to protect him.

Samuel Cosmi is among the leading offensive tackle prospects in this draft. He moves around well, has good length, and could a successful blindside blocker for Lawrence at the NFL level.
