Who Surprises Us In Camp?

I have no idea who our summer superstar will be but I know it will be a surprise. It can be a draft pick, a free agent, or even a player already on the team.  It has often been a quarterback that played in the last part of preseason games against lesser opposition.

2019 camp starred DJ Chark. After a quiet season as a rookie; for the Jacksonville Jaguars, he impressed the fans and coaches with his speed and overall improvement. This continued during the season. In 2018, Taven Bryan showed fans the speed and physicality that made him a first-round draft choice, but he showed little in the regular season.

These traits have not transferred to the playing field.

In 2017 it was Leonard Fournette who got rave reviews for his hard running style and work ethic.  2016 brought on Yannick Ngakoue, a third-round draft choice, who wowed everyone with his quickness and pass-rushing abilities.

Remember that a training camp star can fade away when the regular season begins.
