What were the four biggest mistakes the Jacksonville Jaguars made this offseason?

While there are only four mistakes listed here in my lastest story on Black and Teal, I am sure Jacksonville Jaguars fans could come up with plenty more to discuss.

These, however, stick out to me as opportunities lost that could have made a difference this offseason, They may have taken a team many believe will finish as one of the worst in the NFL, and given this roster a chance to surprise the naysayers.

I’m ever the optimist, especially with “Any Given Sunday” as a backdrop for how the Jaguars should approach this season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars spent money wisely in free agency, filled needs in the NFL Draft and have been applauded for the undrafted free agents the team has signed. There is depth in areas of concern. The quarterback room isn’t as cramped as it looked a few months ago. And head coach Doug Marrone brought in the best possible person in offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, to help Gardner Minshew progress in his second season in the NFL.

Those are a few victories for the franchise before the 2020 season starts.

But these are the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that shocks the world in 2017 with a run to the AFC title game and then falls back under the rock it came out of with two losing seasons. That’s called the status quo.

There is still plenty of work to do and if this was a Gus Bradley-coached team, he would tell them to continue to do better. Doing better is one thing, continuing to get better is another. And Marrone has his work cut out for himself knowing he is on a warm seat walking into this season.

Here are four things the Jacksonville Jaguars did wrong this offseason.
