The Jacksonville Jaguars should look at these four free agents
By David Levin
What happens next for the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 of NFL free agency?
The Jacksonville Jaguars are still a team with many needs this upcoming season. Adding free agents on all three lines of the defense this past week and then re-signing some of their own veterans to new deals will help to strengthen the roster, but it might not be enough to push this team forward.
In other words, there is still more to be done before the start of the NFL Draft that is four weeks away. So far, here is what the front office has done over the past few days.

- Added linebacker Joe Schobert from Cleveland to play in the middle and move Myles Jack back outside.
- Brought in cornerback Darqueze Dennard to compete for the open cornerback slot that was created by trading A.J. Bouye to Denver.
- Signed Rodney Gunter to add size and strength to the run defense. Gunter, who played in Arizona, can play either tackle or end.
- The team re-signed both offensive lineman Tyler Shatley and linebacker/special teams ace Lerentee McCray.
There are more moves to be made. Expect there to be more activity in Week 2 of the free-agent signing period. Jacksonville’s roster is now younger and less experienced, but the change in philosophy also means the franchise is looking to improve now and win in the future over a longer, more sustained period of time.
The trades that sent Calais Campbell to Baltimore and Bouye to Denver will sting at first, but were necessary for growth on a larger scale. There are more free agents out there who can help this team win now who should not break the team’s bank.
Jacksonville has more than $23M left in cap space to spend. If the front office is still in the market to sign immediate impact veterans to the 2020 roster, here are four names the Jaguars must consider.
