The Jaguars offseason continues to pick up as the team announced Chris Conley and Jarrod Wilson will play for the team in 2020.

And so it begins. The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced they have picked up the options od two players who had key roles in the team’s 2019 season.

"Per the Jaguars public relations department, “The Jacksonville Jaguars have exercised their team options for fifth-year WR Chris Conley and fourth-year S Jarrod Wilson, the club announced today. Conley is now under contract with the Jaguars through the 2020 season and Wilson is now under contract through the 2021 season.”"

These are two moves that do not have a profound effect on the salary cap. Per spotrac.com, Conley has a salary cap figure of $2.7 million for this coming season. Wilson has a 3.083 million number.

Conley signed with the Jaguars last offseason after the team brought quarterback Nick Foles to Jacksonville in March. The two players were together on the Kansas City roster in 2016 before Foles moved on to Philadelphia and then on to Jacksonville. He caught 47 passes last season for 775 yards and five touchdowns. He finished four on the team in receptions.

Wilson signed a three-year, $7,250,000 contract with Jacksonville, including a $1,750,000 signing bonus, $2,200,000 of it was guaranteed. He was signed to the contract extension prior to the start of NFL free agency and took over for Tashaun Gipson at safety when the Jaguars released him last offseason.

"Per the Jaguars, “Wilson started all 16 games in 2019 and led the team in total snaps played (1,186) and tackles (73). He registered career-highs in games started, tackles, passes defensed (six) and interceptions (two).”"

Also, Wilson was one of only five NFL players last season to play 100 percent of their team’s defensive snaps in 2019.

The front office could still look to add pieces to their secondary and at wide receiver this offseason, either through free agency or the NFL Draft. With three picks in the top 42 selections, it’s a good bet at least one of the positions will be addressed.

Conley started opposite DJ Chark, who led the team with 1,0008 in receptions yards. Running back Leonard Fournette led all players with 76 catches.

Wilson started opposite Ronnie Harrison last season in a revamped secondary that went through changes during the season.
