For the second straight week, the Jaguars could be without their best safety in the lineup.

The Jaguars placed linebacker Myles Jack on the injured reserve list this week and will be without the former Pro Bowl star for the remainder of the season. On Sunday it was announced that safety Ronnie Harrison is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers and could miss his second consecutive game due to a concussion.

If Harrison, who is in his second season with the team out of Alabama, misses the game on Sunday, then Andrew Wingard figures to step into his place once again and get his second straight start of the season.

Harrison had not practiced since sustaining a concussion in a loss to Tennessee two weeks ago. Head coach Doug Marrone gave the local media the update following practice on Friday afternoon.

"“Ronnie’s still in the [NFL’s concussion] protocol; he has a chance to get out tomorrow,” Marrone said."

Harrison, a third-round pick last season, has shown the ability to be a solid player in the secondary. Despite the team’s issues on defense this season, Harrison is becoming one of the building blocks in the starting unit and has potential Pro Bowl talent. He started the first 11 games of the season before sustaining the injury.

The team used Wingard last week and had Cody Davis and Marcus Gilchrist as backups. Jarrod Wilson started on the other side.

"“Andrew’s been getting better; you can see that on the film,” Marrone said. “He’s back there. J-Dub’s back there. We’ll have Marcus in some things. If Ronnie can’t go, then we’ll have to do a couple of different things.”"

Jaguars tight end Seth DeValve is still listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game. He has missed the last three games with an oblique injury. The tight end position has been one of concern all season long as injuries have forced the team to make major changes to the roster.
