In his most recent story on NFL Spin Zone, Dan Parzych lists the Jaguars Doug Marrone as one of the head coaches on the hot seat in the league.

As if Jaguars fans didn’t already know this, but coming into the 2019 season, head coach Doug Marrone was already under fire to turn things around after a 5-11 season in 2018.
His seat is a bit warmer now that the team is 0-2 and Jalen Ramsey’s desire to walk away from the black and teal has been the biggest news of the week heading into tonight’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

For Jacksonville, it’s been anything short of reality television played out in front of management’s eyes. First, the team loses quarterback Nick Foles in the first quarter of the game against Kansas City after breaking his left clavicle. Then the team fails to convert a two-point conversation and loses a game to Houston where Ramsey and Marrone have to be separated on the sidelines.

Now, preparing for a short week against a team that treated the Jaguars like a punching bag last season on Thursday night, things are starting to unravel a bit. Marrone has been at the center of the firestorm with Ramsey, who could be traded as soon as Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Now, Dan Parzych of NFL Spin Zone puts Marrone in the top three of coaches who could be fired during the season, not at the end of the schedule.

"“But when taking into consideration the recent mess surrounding Jalen Ramsey as well with the cornerback being unhappy with the team and wanting a trade, it only adds to the list of reasons as to why Marrone finds himself on the hot seat with the Jaguars,” Parzych writes."

Marrone made changes to the team’s practice schedule in OTAs and training camp. Hoping to avoid injuries to key players. He faced sharp criticism for not playing starters the first two games of the preseason and minimally in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.

Ramsey, who has been a controversial and outspoken player since the Jaguars made him the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, was told before the season started he would not be given a contract extension this season, after the organization announced on the afternoon of the NFL Draft it would pick up his fifth-year option in 2020.

A more mellow veteran told reporters present when he spoke at the team’s mandatory minicamp that he wasn’t happy with the team’s decision but was focused on winning football games as a Jaguars player in 2019.

According to Parzych, only Ron Rivera of Carolina and Pat Shurmur of the New York Giants are on a hotter seat than the Jaguars head coach.
