Can these five players put the Jacksonville Jaguars back on track and potentially help them to a spot in the playoffs in 2019?

Jacksonville Jaguars football is inching closer with the end of OTA’s and training camp looming. But which players can help separate the team and help them make a run come January?

Fans of the Black and Teal should watch out for these players and their development throughout the season.

Nick Foles – The easiest choice to make, but Nick Foles could be the final piece the Jaguars need to put themselves over the top. For the previous two seasons, the team’s overall roster was filled with talent except for the quarterback position.

Having a consistent quarterback in Foles will help them win games they couldn’t when the run game was stifled or the defense – humanly – couldn’t get a stop every time they took the field. If the Jaguars can make the playoffs, Foles has been able to make some magic.

Cam Robinson – In his rookie season, Cam Robinson showed the makings and promise of a franchise left tackle. But after tearing suffering a season-ending injury in Week 2 of the 2018 season, Robinson will have to start from scratch and get back to form.

Lower-body injuries are tough for offensive linemen to overcome, so Robinson will have some skepticism already going into the season. Not to mention that Robinson is already playing one of the toughest and most important positions in all of football at left tackle.

Foles will need to feel safe to open up the offense, and if Robinson can do that, the offense will be that much better.

Ronnie Harrison – In his rookie season, Ronnie Harrison was thrust into the starting lineup with little experience after the release of Barry Church. Harrison slipped into the Jaguars defense like a glove with 32 tackles, and an interception and sack.

Harrison will now enter the 2019 season as the starting strong safety in a revamped group. Harrison is a playmaker first and foremost, so if he can continue to grow in his rookie season, he’ll add to an already stacked secondary.

Josh Allen – The Jaguars’ first-round pick in 2019 is going to have some lofty expectations after slipping to the team at seven. The past three years, Joey Bosa (2016), Myles Garrett (2017), and Bradley Chubb (2018). All three played extremely well in their rookie seasons, with Bosa and Chubb racking over 10 sacks.

Josh Allen will join a talented pass rushing group with the likes of Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue. The former Kentucky Wildcat could be the piece the Jaguars needed to climb back into the top defense category.

Josh Oliver

San Jose State tight end Josh Oliver could potentially be the most important pick from the Jaguars’ 2019 draft class. During his time in Philadelphia, Foles’ favorite target was tight end, Zach Ertz.

Oliver has a lot of work to do, but he has impressed the coaching staff so far in OTA’s. Foles could make Oliver a threat in the red zone and a go-to on third down. Jacksonville needs someone on offense to step up from the crowd and become a consistent target, Oliver can be that guy.
