Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Jaguars worked out free agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor on Wednesday.

Here’s a bit of interesting news. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Jacksonville Jaguars are working out veteran wide receiver Terrelle Pryor on Wednesday. The team did not make a move this offseason to add another pass catcher other than adding Chris Conley to their wide receiver room in free agency.

Veteran Donte Moncrief left via free agency after signing a one-year deal with the team last offseason. The deal cost the team $9.6 million for minimal productivity. Terrelle Pryor played for both Buffalo and the New York Jets last season and at 30 years old next month, some would wonder why the Jaguars would add the veteran who hasn’t been a top target in the league.

"“Since moving from quarterback to receiver after the 2013 season, Pryor had one breakout year with the Cleveland Browns in 2016, catching 77 passes for 1,007 yards in 16 games,” Kevin Patra writes. “Since then, a rash of injuries, a case of the dropsies, and inefficiency have waylaid his receiver career.”"

The Jaguars have a new offensive coordinator in John DeFilippo and a new signal caller in Nick Foles. This may be nothing more than the team doing their due diligence. The Jaguars wide receiver unit is crowded.

Dede Westbrook looks to be the team’s No. 1 option at the position. Marqise Lee is coming off an ACL injury and is not expected back to practice until late in the preseason.

DJ Chark, the team’s second-round pick last season, has looked good so far in camp. Conley, who has a history with Foles in Kansas City, has flashed some big-play ability. Keelan Cole is working to return to his 2017 form.

The appearance of Terrelle Pryor in Jacksonville is puzzling since he has been anything but stellar.

"“He participated in just six games with New York before being jettisoned after catching only 14 balls for 235 yards and two touchdowns,” Patra added.“Pryor lasted just two games with the Bills before being cut, snatching two passes for 11 yards and earning zero targets in his second tilt.”"

In other news: Jaguars 2019 third-round pick Quincy Williams exited the practice field Tuesday afternoon after having his foot stepped on.

Williams, who is the older brother of Quinnen Williams, the third pick in this year’s Draft, was taken off in a cart. There is no word about the severity of the injury for the Murray State star. He is currently battling to win the weakside linebacker spot vacated by Telvin Smith, who announced he would not play football in 2019.
