Following the NFL Draft from this past weekend, Bleacher Report released its rankings of all 32 NFL teams. See where the Jaguars fall on the site’s list.

First, it was NFL.com’s turn to rank all 32 NFL teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars following the Draft last weekend. Now, it’s Bleacher Report that has released their version of league rankings.

Let’s just say the most recent list favors the Jaguars more than the one released by Elliot Harrison.

Based on the selection process and the pieces on the chessboard already present in North Florida prior to the seven players being added over the three-day period, the franchise could fit back in the playoff picture, if online sports site has anything to say about it. The Jaguar came in 12th overall, just in front of Houston (13th) and significantly behind Indianapolis (5th). The Houston Texans were ranked 22nd.

More from Jacksonville Jaguars News

"Per the story, “The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the more difficult teams in the NFL to peg. At this point last year, the Jaguars were garnering buzz as a Super Bowl contender after making the AFC Championship Game the prior year. But the 2018 season was a mess—the offense sputtered, the defense regressed, and the Jags missed the playoffs altogether.”"

Now, with changes on offense and players healthy once again, does this mean the team that shocked everyone in 2017 is ready to prove last season was a fluke and injuries combined with shoddy quarterback plan were the reason for the season-long collapse?

"“The Jaguars were again one of the more talked-about teams of the offseason this year for a different reason,” the assessment continues. “This time, it was the acquisition of Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles, the quarterback Jacksonville hopes will lead the team to the promised land.”"

A team from the state of Florida playing in Miami in February would be pretty sweet. Given the Jaguars are ranked the highest amongst the three Florida franchises, it’s only fitting the team with one of the best defenses in the NFL gets the nod here.

The story, written by NFL site analysts NFL analysts Brent Sobleski, Brad Gagnon and Gary Davenport assessed what the team did in the Draft that makes them an attractive pick right outside the top 10.

"“The Jacksonville Jaguars sit at a crossroads. The same organization that made an AFC Championship Game appearance two seasons ago can either return to elite status or continue to crumble after last year’s devastating 5-11 campaign,” writes Sobleski. “Nick Foles’ addition certainly helps after years of Blake Bortles. The team added the draft class’ most productive edge-rusher in Josh Allen to help an already talented defense. It then found offensive value in the next two rounds with right tackle Jawaan Taylor and tight end Josh Oliver.”"

Next. The Jaguars select Josh Allen in the first round. dark

There are still holes on offense, as the three writers point out. There are still questions about the group of wide receivers on the roster, but there is a belief that issue can be overcome with steadier play in 2019.
