Can the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that has lost nine of their last 10 games, find a way to beat the Miami Dolphins on the road at the Hard Rock Stadium?

This is not 1999. The Jacksonville Jaguars are nowhere near the team that played the Miami Dolphins in the AFC Divisional Playoffs and marched off with a 62-7 win. This team is more like the visitors that day, crawling and scratching for every yard, every down for four quarters.

The game on Sunday between the two Florida teams is more about pride vs. playoff hope. Making the game a little more interesting is the fact head coach Doug Marrone has said he will stick with starter Cody Kessler even though the offense is sputtering more so than Ford Pinto.

Fred Taylor, Mark Brunell, and Jimmy Smith would have a hard time performing with this offensive game plan as the line in front of them is as soft and sliced bread.

We here at Black and Teal once again try to predict the winner. This season has been tough as this team has been more off than on with their offensive game plan.

Hopefully, this week will be a better barometer of how the team will look the last two games of 2018.

Kathy Clark – The Jaguars meet the Dolphins on Sunday. The Dolphins are still in the playoff hunt and hanging on by their fingernails.

The Jaguars are assessing young players and hoping to retain their jobs for next season. On paper, the Jaguars should win but no one has much hope. I hope can move mountains! Jaguars 17 Dolphins 9.

Lorenzino Estrada – The Dolphins’ playoff hopes are still alive — slim but alive. With that, there is a lot to play for against a team that is just waiting to get to the offseason.

While the Dolphins aren’t glamorous or down right scary, they will outshine the Jaguars in South Beach. Dolphins win 24-6.

David Levin – I was told this week that matter what the situation, I picked Jacksonville to win. Not this week.

I know this is a game they could win and probably should win. Whether they can pull this off remains to be seen. Can the offense score more than 13 points? Will Kessler be able to throw against the Miami secondary?

Leonard Fournette may get 20-25 carries this week or he may only play a half of football and give way to David Williams. The team’s running game needs to have a solid showing this week. The team has not had a 100-yard rusher this season.

Given that T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant are not likely to be back next season as they both become free agents, we may be seeing the only two running backs on the roster in 2019 that were here this season.

On defense, look for Jacksonville to rush the passer and force Ryan Tannehill out of the pocket. In the end, the defense will play well and hold Miami under 20 points, but the offense will let the organization down again. Miami 19 Jaguars 17.
