The Jacksonville Jaguars played an amazingly poor game against the Titans

The Jacksonville Jaguars went to Tennessee and laid an egg against a fired up Titans team, losing 30-9.

When thinking of how the Jacksonville Jaguars played on Thursday night, some adjectives come to mind…embarrassing, humiliating, devastating, pathetic, and we could go on and on.  The 2018 season is over. The team must play the remaining games. However, they are playing for jobs now.

Every sports writer, fan, football guru, etc is basically saying the same thing.  It’s obvious that, as Troy Aikman stated on the TV broadcast of the game, the entire Jaguars organization is in total disarray.

The ownership, management, coaching staff, players, training staff, and anyone else associated with the Jaguars team must get a long hard look.  We can’t change the ownership but the other areas need a shakeup.

Management – The management started this disaster during the offseason.  They re-signed a flawed Blake Bortles which showed a total lack of ability to accurately understand the modern NFL.

This is a quarterback-driven league and as Mark Dominik said on NFL SIRIUS radio the team must have adequate quarterback play. They don’t. He went on to suggest an entire offensive overhaul.

Finally, the choice of a defensive lineman [Taven Bryan] in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft was a head-scratcher for a team that needed help on offense.

Coaching staff – It all starts at the top.

"Doug Marrone stated in his press conference, “We didn’t do a good job up front.” He added that he was heavily disappointed.  Watch him on the sidelines and he looks completely"

Alfie Crow of bigcatcountry.com believes the methods of Marrone’s coaching may have fallen on deaf ears.

"“I don’t know that his message is still resonating with the team,” he stated."

Crow went on to state that Todd Wash, the team’s defensive coordinator, does not make changes or adjustments to the defense during the game and that the team continues to struggle with running quarterbacks.

Firing our offensive coordinator did not change the issues that still exist. The Jaguars continued to run Leonard Fournette on the left side of the offensive line behind two players that were cut recently by the New York Giants.  It wasn’t working but no adjustments were made.

There needs to be a Plan B when Plan A doesn’t work.  It’s not happening with this coaching staff.

Players – It’s difficult to criticize players put in an impossible situation week after week. However, Aikman said that the team quit.  Others made the same comment.

I see the defensive players frustrated by the lack of offense and game time adjustments week after week. I see the offense made up of many players who have limited experience and limited talent.

An infusion of new players including an NFL caliber quarterback would make a huge difference.

Training staff – The offensive line and tight ends are decimated by injuries.  Why?  The team should look very closely at the trainers and medical staff. Something must change to reduce the number of injuries.  New methods?  New ideas?

Comments – There MUST be serious changes made during the offseason.  The Jaguars have many talented players on defense and they are being wasted by a poor offense and unimaginative game planning.
