Predictions: The Jaguars face the Titans
By David Levin
After a win on Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars turn around and face the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night in Nashville.
You could tell this week there was a sense of relief amongst the players in the Jacksonville Jaguars locker room. The seven-game losing streak was over. Not only was the win over the Indianapolis Colts big for the team’s confidence, but it was also a shutout of a division rival. It doesn’t get much sweeter than that.
The defense was as dominant as it was last season.
"“It was arguably the unit’s best performance since the 2017 season began, considering who it came against and the situation surrounding the game, but it likely is too late to turn around a disappointing season,” writes Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com. Still, it was a welcomed sight for a franchise that had just this past week fired its offensive coordinator and benched its starting quarterback after losing seven consecutive games."
Now, the Jaguars face another division rival, the Tennessee Titans with a new goal in mind – to stop their rival’s hold over them and to gain momentum. That’s a word this team has not heard in some time.

The Jaguars are still mathematically part of the AFC playoff picture, but a loss on Thursday night changes all of that. The defense will need another stout performance and the running game with Leonard Fournette will have to carry the offense.
We here at Black and Teal take a look at the game and make our weekly predictions.
David Levin – A streak? It’s possible. I have said on more than one occasion this team is better than its record despite the injuries. A win last week was big. A win tonight is huge!
Look for Fournette to get a steady diet of carries. Look for the defense to continue to blanket the Titans pass catchers. This is a “home” game for Jalen Ramsey. Expect a big game from him.
I’m picking with my head and heart this week. The losing streak against the Titans is over. Jaguars win, 17-13.
Kathy Clark – The Jaguars meet their old rivals the Titans in a game that was once thought to be for the AFC South title. That was then and this is now. Both teams are virtually out of the playoff race and playing for pride.
I would love to pick the Jaguars and really hope they win but…Titans 17. Jaguars 9
Lorenzino Estrada – The Jaguars are looking to play spoiler tonight against a Titans team with a slim shot at the playoffs.
Having Leonard Fournette back will be a huge upgrade for the offense and take tons of pressure off Cody Kessler’s shoulders. It will be a defensive bout, but one where the Jaguars come out on top. Jaguars win, 13-10.
William Frost – The Jaguars finally won a game last week, and are going into their Thursday night matchup with a returning Leonard Fournette and a defense full of confidence.
When these two teams met earlier in the season the game was another field goal contest as Jacksonville fell to the Titans 9-6. Hopefully, there’s a bit more scoring today, but the Jaguars offense still won’t be in full flow with Kessler starting only his second game.
Expect this one to be a cagey one in Tennessee if the Jaguars defense can keep them in it. Jaguars win 17-13.
