The Jacksonville Jaguars announced they have re-signed wide receiver Rashad Greene to the active roster.

Rashad Greene, the former Jacksonville Jaguars player was re-signed by the team on Monday when the team announced that left tackle Cam Robinson will be out for the season with a torn ACL. Greene, who starred at FSU, was released when running back Brandon Wilds was promoted from the practice squad.

Greene was a fifth-round draft pick of the Jaguars in 2015 and has been used primarily as a punt returner. He has had injury issues throughout his career and missed all of 2017 on the injured reserve list.

The 25-year-old Greene had a good training camp but was also part of a wide receiver group that may be the deepest and fastest in the team’s history. He was kept on the final 53-man roster after the preseason, but may not have made the team if not for a knee injury to Marqise Lee that cost the veteran the 2018 season.

"Per Brian Jackson of news4jax.com, “Greene has appeared in 17 career games and has caught 24 passes for 125 yards (5.2 rec. avg.) and two TDs. He has also returned 39 punts for 432 yards (11.0 punt return avg.), including a 73-yard TD on Dec. 13, 2015, against Indianapolis.”"

Greene is now the sixth wide receiver on the current roster. Whether he gets time on the field other than on special teams remains a mystery. Keelan Cole has clearly established himself as the team’s top pass catcher. He caught seven passes for 116 yards and touchdown. The team’s No. 2 wide receiver, Donte Moncrief, caught his first touchdown pass as a Jaguar this weekend in the 31-20 win over the New England Patriots.

Dede Westbrook also caught a touchdown in the victory as quarterback Blake Bortles slung the football around TIAA Bank Field for four scores and 377 yards passing.
