Jaguars Dante Fowler Makes His Return on Monday

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler rejoined the team on Monday after serving a one-game suspension handed down by the NFL.
Dante Fowler returned to the Jacksonville Jaguars locker room on Monday, a week after having to serve a one-game suspension handed down by the NFL. The fourth-year defensive end was happy to be back amongst his teammates after a 20-15 win over the New York Giants – a victory he could not share on Sunday.
It’s a feeling he does not want to experience again. The clock is ticking for Fowler, who is in the final year of his rookie deal. He is either playing for a new deal here in Jacksonville or auditioning for 31 other teams who would love to have a young pass rusher with the skills of the former first-round draft pick.
Watching the Jaguars get their first win of the season on the road without him. The perspective he now had may help motivate him in this “make or break” year.
"“I don’t know when the last time was I watched a game on Sunday, so just being in that situation … it was very dull. But it was very cool just to see my teammates make plays,” Fowler said via Jaguars.com."

Jacksonville will need the 24-year-old on Sunday when the New England Patriots come to town. Quarterback Tom Brady saw plenty of Fowler last year in the AFC Title Game, who had two sacks of the future Hall of Famer in a 24-20.
Now, he and his teammates are whole and can focus on Week 2 in the NFL.
"As John Oehser wrote, “Fowler, the No. 3 overall selection by the Jaguars in the 2015 NFL Draft, missed the victory over the Giants while serving a one-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He spent last week away from the Jaguars’ facility conditioning before returning Monday.”"
Fowler’s offseason has been a roller coaster ride as well, having been injured and missing OTAs and minicamp before returning to the team during training camp. He was suspended for the game against Minnesota for getting into two altercations with teammates during camp. With the past being just that, Fowler wants to concentrate on football.
Especially after the feeling, he felt watching his teammates celebrate a much-deserved victory.
"“I’m very passionate about the game, but from a fan’s standpoint, it was just very cool to see. It was so cool. The New York Giants have a lot of great players. Saquon [Barkley], he’s a great back. Odell [Beckham] Jr, he’s a great receiver.”"
The Jaguars played well on defense on Sunday, securing the win with an interception by Myles Jack that was returned for a touchdown. The pass rush did its job with two sacks on the afternoon. Having Fowler back makes this unit that much more dangerous this week at TIAA Bank Field.
