The Jacksonville Jaguars are the best team in the state of Florida. To start there are several good college teams but they can’t compete with a pro team. Also, we have two NFL teams. First are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and next is the Miami Dolphins.

The teams don’t play each other every year but by the end of the season, one team usually stands above the other two. The outlook for 2018 is sunny for the Jags. However, the outlook for the Bucs and Dolphins is cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms and football sized hail. Let’s look at the opinions of the national media.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Although the rankings are all over the place for the Jags, they rank well ahead of the other two by everyone. Walterfootball.com ranks #18.

The Jaguars are an overrated NFL team that had an easy schedule and a lack of injuries in 2017.

ESPN Power Rankings rank the Jaguars #14. Pro Football Focus (PFF) ranks the Jags #15. USA Today suggests a 12-4 season for the Jaguars.

Also, the PFF Analysis team stated that the Jacksonville’s run defense is seventh in the NFL and goes well with our number two pass defense. Our quarterback rankings are not so positive.

PFF ranked Blake Bortles #17. However, Zach Kruse of Bleacher Report committed the ultimate insult by ranking Bortles #31.

His comment “the Jags don’t ask Bortles to do much because they’ve learned he’s not capable of much.”

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

To start the Bucs rankings are even more insulting than the Jaguars rankings. Walterfootball.com ranked the Bucs #32. The comment is “the Bucs may be a dumpster fire.” They made this comment prior to the Jamies Winston suspension.

More from Jacksonville Jaguars News

ESPN ranks the Buccaneers #22 and PFFonline also ranked the Bucs #22. PFF Analysis team ranked the Bucs run defense an impressive #5. Jameis Winston ranked #15 quarterback by PFF Analysis team and #11 by Zach Kruse of Bleacher Report.

Miami Dolphins

To begin Miami looks like the number three team in Florida. Walter Football ranked the Dolphins #32 and commented: “could be the worst team in the NFL.”

ESPN Power rankings moved them up a notch to #30. PFF online kindly ranked them #20. PFF ranked the Dolphins run defense a depressing #32.

"“This run defense could be ugly.” There are no current quarterback rankings because their starter is returning from a torn ACL and their backups are two unimpressive veterans."

NFL TOP 100

Jacksonville placed three players on this list. They are Calais Campbell, Jalen Ramsey, Leonard Fournette, Yannick Ngakoue, Telvin Smith and AJ Bouye.

In contrast, the Dolphins placed one, Cameron Wake, and the Buccaneers placed no one.

The Jaguars are number one.

dark. Next. Dante Fowler Will Miss Start of Training Camp

Jacksonville is the number one team in Florida without a doubt. Despite the underwhelming rankings by the national media they still outrank both the Buccaneers and Dolphins. My hope is that all three teams prove the media wrong and have excellent seasons.

Of course, the Jaguars must have the best season.
