New information on the upcoming restyle of the Jacksonville Jaguars have emerged from the top brass.

Perhaps the most compelling non-personnel storyline for the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason has been the impending reveal of new uniforms heading into 2018. Speculation that the team would revamp the look circulated near the end of last season, and have since been confirmed by the organization.

With the confirmation of the new uniforms, rumors and opinions have been widely expressed by fans on what the unis could look like, and if the new look could resemble the popular original Jaguars set.

While in Orlando for the annual NFL league meetings, both owner Shad Khan and executive vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin shared thoughts on the change:

Coughlin had a hand in creating the fresh look, and as an old school guy, his approval could mean the team has in fact gone back to a more traditional look, after Jacksonville was essentially the guinea pigs for Nike back in 2013.

Khan does not shy away from noting that the first uniform switch after he took over the team was a widely panned look, most notoriously the two-toned helmet. But the biggest takeaway from Khan’s words was again pointing out how well received the teal alternate jersey was when used in two games last season. Khan has mentioned multiple times that fans have voiced their enthusiasm over the teal jerseys to the owner, and it definitely seems that Khan has taken that to heart.

Along with new hints over what could be coming, the official unveiling date has been announced:

The new uniforms will be revealed at the State of the Franchise on April 19th, which occurs a week before the NFL draft, as expected.
