Here’s my prediction with how the first four picks will go, and they’ll be updated every Thursday until the draft.

Myles Garrett. 1. player. 53. . Defensive End. Texas A&M

Defensive End. Stanford. Solomon Thomas. 2. player. 42.

. Defensive End/Defensive Tackle. Alabama. Jonathan Allen. 3. player. 57

Jamal Adams. 4. player. 52. . Safety. LSU

Even though the Jacksonville Jaguars have two starting-caliber players at safety with Tashaun Gipson and free agent addition Barry Church, this will not prevent them from taking the best defensive back in the draft Jamal Adams.

Gipson underwhelmed in his first year as a Jag but, in his defense, he believes the team was not maximizing his potential under former coach Gus Bradley.

Former Dallas Cowboys team strong safety Barry Church may be new to the Jaguars, but he is not new to the league. He is 29 years old and will be 30 by the end of the season.

I still believe Jacksonville will do everything they can to trade down this year and collect more picks throughout this draft and potentially the 2018 draft as well. However, if they are unable to trade back, drafting an elite talent like Adams who can play any position in the secondary makes a lot of sense.

Adams will provide the Jaguars with plenty of depth at the safety position and allow defensive coordinator Todd Wash to find ways to get his best players and athletes on the field, regardless of position. A defense that could feature young, elite athletes like Adams, Jalen Ramsey, Telvin Smith, Myles Jack, Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue could be very scary for opposing offenses for a long time.
