Each of the last three seasons General Manager David Caldwell has drafted a player from Florida State. If the trend continues who will they pick this year?

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been building through the draft for some time. While Caldwell has had his hits and misses the talent acquired from Florida State has been visible on the field since day one. With needs at offensive line, defensive line, cornerback, and running back which Florida State player makes the most sense?

A consistent run game has been a problem area for the team in recent years. Dalvin Cook could breathe new life into the running attack. He is a heady talent that would add speed, toughness, and finishing ability to the Jags. Cook will likely go in the first round. If he is their man the Jags will invest heavily to do so.

Offensive line will also be a position to address in this years draft. Offensive tackle Roderick Johnson could be the addition to help solidify the unit. He is a two time Jacobs Blocking award winner. And At 6’7″ he would add power to the offensive line. His toughness also fits the type of players Tom Coughlin wants to bring in.

The Jags could also add depth to the defensive line position. In this case the Caldwell and company should look no further than DeMarcus Walker. Walker could be a second or third round pick. If the Jags decide to draft Walker his ability to rush on the edge would pair nicely with Yannick Ngakoue.

Also with the departure of Davon House and Prince Amukamara the Jags could choose to draft a connerback. In that case Marquez White is available. He has had problem with penalties during his tenure at Florida State. However the 6’0 Senior could provide depth and versatility to a depleted position.

Any of these players would be a nice addition to the Jags. However I believe the brain trust of Caldwell and Coughlin will pick someone who can come in and make an immediate impact. I believe the Jags select Roderick Johnson in the second or third round if he is available.

While the draft hasn’t happened yet it’s is a good chance one of these plays is wearing teal and black next season. Of the players mentioned above who would you want to see on the Jags next season?
