Against the Chicago Bears the Jags got off to a quick start. The offense made it all the way down to the 1 yard line before an untimely interception derailed that momentum.  After that it was a relatively pedestrian outing with the Jags needing to comeback in the 4th quarter to secure a win. That can’t happen against the Oakland Raiders.

One factor in this game will be the Jags ability to offensively make plays.  The Jags have had a decline in explosive plays this season and the Oakland raiders can cure that. This season the Raiders defense is allowing almost 7 yards a play to opposing offenses.  Greg Olsen and Blake Bortles need to take advantage of this weakness and throw the ball vertically downfield. Getting Bortles in a rhythm early will help him throughout the game. The offense need to make the most of this match up in order to stay competitive during this game.

look to change that against a Raiders defense allowing 4.8 yards per attempt. The offensive line has struggled at times this season but this week the rushing attack needs to produce. Taking advantage of the Raiders porous run defense will be a good start for the running backs.

Another reason the Jags offense needs to find its grove this week is to keep up with Derek Carr and the Oakland offense.  Oakland has scored above 27 points four different times this year. The Jags have only scored more than 27 points twice. This game could turn into a shootout and if so the Jags need to bring their best in order to deliver their third win in a row.

This Sunday the Jags have a chance to make a statement and show the fans, the AFC south, and the rest of NFL what it can do. All the growth this off-season needs to show up in this game. The Jaguars offense is the key for a victory this weekend.
