Myles Jack will play at least 20 defensive snaps: FICTION

The Jaguars have been disappointing defensively so far under head coach Gus Bradley but most of the blame has been placed on the lack of talent in terms of personnel. While true, Bradley has to shoulder some of the responsibility – he’s been notoriously bad at adjusting in game when things aren’t working. I think this will come into play on Sunday with Myles Jack.

Over the course of the preseason, Jack showed he was one of the three best linebackers on the roster. In fact, he showed he was probably the best linebacker on the roster and perhaps one of the best defensive players. Despite his flashes, the UCLA product is not starting and instead will rotate with (maybe?) Telvin Smith in some situations.

I expect to see Aaron Rodgers target and exploit the middle of the field, exposing Paul Posluszny as the poor coverage backer he’s become over the last few years. Instead of doing the right thing (subbing Jack in often at MLB), I think the Jaguars will be stubborn and keep Myles on the bench more than he should be.

Hopefully I’m wrong.

Some people think the Jaguars are going to win this game, but I’m not buying it. I’ve been high on this team in the past and gotten burned badly, so I’m being cautious to start 2016. I have high hopes for the Jaguars overall in 2016, but I think the Packers are one of the few teams capable of winning the Super Bowl and there’s no shame in losing to them. I think the Jaguars keep it close for a bit and their comeback bid will fall just short in the 4th quarter.

PREDICTION: Jaguars 23 – Packers 27
