The Jacksonville Jaguars have a tough test for their dress rehearsal preseason game as they take on a loaded Cincinnati Bengals squad.

While it’s a bit muted because it doesn’t actually count, this week’s preseason game is a chance for the Jacksonville Jaguars to show the nation just how much the team has improved in a primetime matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

After two solid outings against the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the first team offense is hoping to show they are poised to be one of the best in the league. Quarterback Blake Bortles and wide receiver Allen Robinson both look like they haven’t missed a beat, and the revamped running game could help the young signal caller limit his mistakes.

Defensively the Jaguars look significantly better, but they are still looking to see something out of 2015 first round pick Dante Fowler Jr. as he continues his return from a torn ACL. This will be a good measuring stick for the young defense as the Bengals offense has been one of the more consistent over the last few years.

Andy Dalton

took a big step forward in 2015 and now is arguably a top 10 quarterback, and

A.J. Green

is still one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Rookie first round pick Jalen Ramsey will have his hands full if he’s given the assignment on Green.

It’s not a real game, but this is going to be an interesting few quarters for the Jaguars to see just how well their talent level compares to a perennial playoff team.
