In what is a big year for the former second round pick, Marqise Lee is already missing practice due to injury.

In what might become a curious piece of trivia one day, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected two wide receivers in the 2nd round of the 2014 NFL Draft – former USC standout Marqise Lee and then Penn State wideout Allen Robinson. While ARob has ascended into stardom, Lee has struggled to stay on the field and has become an afterthought  on offense.

Things were supposed to be different this year as Lee had not missed any time in the offseason activities or minicamp. He was finally healthy.

Until he wasn’t.

Lee missed the second day of training camp with a hamstring injury.

If you listen to Lee,

he doesn’t sound too worried about missing the one practice

.

"“First year I would have never said nothing… I would have came back and I would have just went after it, but it’s big. I know how important this is as far as my process in coming back.“I don’t want anything to prolong it. Just because I felt it don’t mean it’s nothing significant. Therefore, I got the opportunity to sit back, slow it down and put the process in. It ain’t like we play tomorrow. I’ve got some time.”-Marqise Lee"

Lee appears to be playing it safe and just making sure he doesn’t make the injury more serious before the season starts, but it’s still concerning.

Head coach Gus Bradley said Lee won’t be limited for “an extended period” but he needs to get on the field and get reps with Blake Bortles in order to get himself into the rotation.

Aside from Lee, there also has to be a little bit of concern about second year running back T.J. Yeldon missing practice time. With Yeldon out, newly signed Chris Ivory will get a chance to solidify himself as the starter and relegate Yeldon to a third down role.

It’s only been one year, but Yeldon missed a few games as a rookie so it’s somewhat worrisome.
