Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley is in a make or break season in 2016 and must deliver on the potential his team has.

Entering 2016 the Jacksonville Jaguars look poised for success. With plenty of new additions – especially on defense – the Jaguars finally have the personnel to deliver more than five wins in a season.

It is widely anticipated that .500 or better is the goal and possible bench mark for the team. Because of this, it is now time for Gus Bradley to put up or shut up. The Jags are legitimate playoff contenders and should be contending based on the strength of their personnel.

While it takes time to build a contender, the Jags have now had three seasons to lay the foundation and establish themselves under Bradley. He didn’t have all of the tools in the first couple of years and 2015 wasn’t a cakewalk either, but the tool chest appears bursting for the next season.

More from Black and Teal

As we look forward to the 2016 season, it’s easy to see promise and delivery from the young Jags under Bradley. It’s easy to see the team succeeding.

So if they don’t, it’s time to finally pin this mess on the head coach. The Jags have shown exceptional patience (bravo to owner Shad Khan) but at some point the head coach must prove himself worthy and deliver. Part of Bradley’s appeal was his time spent with the Seattle Seahawks and being a proven winner. Now he must show he can do the same with the Jags.

There really isn’t much that needs to be said about how crucial it is to win in 2016 for the Jaguars. The fan base has waited a long time to see the team return to the competitive ranks. They are hungry to no longer be the cellar dwellers of the AFC South and the NFL. If Gus Bradley doesn’t pan out it will be back to the drawing board and that could mean more years of waiting.

He must prove he is the right man for the job when the personnel is right.
