The Jacksonville Jaguars have an exciting offense and plenty of young talent that is looked to as the future of the NFL, but they just don’t sell much.

Outside of Jacksonville there are very few people who buy Jaguars jerseys.

In the recent rankings of year-end sales by player, the top 50 are occupied by players from other teams and not one Jaguar was able to crack into the upper level of sales.

With the impressive play of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles and wide receivers Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson or even new tight end Julius Thomas, it would be expected that at least one player would make it up there. After all, Teddy Bridgewater (25th) and Derek Carr (29th) are in the top 50 and young wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. (sixth) and Sammy Watkins (47th) also found their way in there.

More from Black and Teal

Blake Bortles and Allen Robinson are equally worthy or more worthy than those players of getting attention and selling gear.

Alas, the list only cements just how small the Jags market is across the nation. There are very few Jags fans around the nation (and in the UK) even with exciting players and efforts from owner Shad Khan to expand the brand.

Perhaps with more wins the Jags will finally get a player in the top 50 and start to expand their brand finally. The product on the football field is the number one step in gaining more fans and there’s no reason to think the Jags are going to take a step backward in year four under Gus Bradley and Dave Caldwell.

Next year it would be great to see a couple of Jags in the top 50. Allen Robinson and Blake Bortles seem like the most likely candidates but there could be some breakout stars for 2016.
