Jacksonville Jaguars complete 2016 schedule
By Luke Sims
The Jacksonville Jaguars 2016 schedule is not going to be a cakewalk, but the NFL schedule makers also didn’t force the team into a corner.
Head coach Gus Bradley and probably general manager Dave Caldwell know that if they don’t perform well in 2016, the Jacksonville Jaguars will move in another direction. Owner Shad Khan has patience, but four straight seasons without a winning record will make even his patience wear thin.
So the Jacksonville Jaguars 2016 schedule plays a key role in either keeping Bradley and Caldwell or the team moving on from the duo that was given the reins in 2013. Fortunately, the Jags didn’t end up with one of the worst schedules, but they didn’t up with one of the best, either.
Below is the complete Jacksonville Jaguars 2016 schedule (Game times are 1:00pm unless noted otherwise):
Week 1, September 11: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Green Bay Packers
Week 2, September 18: Jacksonville Jaguars @ San Diego Chargers (4:25pm)
Week 3, September 25: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Baltimore Ravens
Week 4, October 2: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts in London (9:30am)
Week 5: Bye Week
Week 6, October 16: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Chicago Bears
Week 7, October 23: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Oakland Raiders
Week 8, October 27: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football (8:25pm)
Week 9, November 6: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Kansas City Chiefs
Week 10, November 13: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Houston Texans
Week 11, November 20: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions
Week 12, November 27: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Buffalo Bills
Week 13, December 4: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Denver Broncos
Week 14, December 11: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Minnesota Vikings
Week 15, December 18: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans
Week 16, December 24: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennessee Titans on Saturday
Week 17, January 1: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts
Right off the bat, it’s clear the Jags lucked out in not needing to play the Denver Broncos in Denver in December nor having to play the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau either. The Detroit Lions are not a particularly great home team and the Minnesota Vikings will be coming down to Jacksonville, so the Jags won’t have to contend with their new stadium surge.

It’s also worth noting that the Jags didn’t end up with significant stretches away, featuring just two games in a row twice on the schedule. The NFL schedule makers also gave the Jags a bye after London and the other side of the London sandwich is against the Baltimore Ravens who were in a major slump in 2015.
All in all, the schedule came out well for the Jaguars in 2016, providing Bradley and Caldwell the best chance they have yet had to put together a season above .500.
