4) Matt Hasselbeck, quarterback, Indianapolis Colts

5-3 record, 60.9 completion percentage, 1690 yards, nine touchdowns, five interceptions

Coming off the bench in relief of the struggling and injured Andrew Luck, Matt Hasselbeck was a breath of fresh air for the Indianapolis Colts.

Hasselbeck did everything the Colts could have ever wanted from a 40-year quarterback. He came out looking sharp, polished, and in command of an offense that was floundering.

Of course, all good things must come to an end and after taking 16 sacks and numerous other hits, the 40-year old QB started to look his age. It was painful for viewers to watch Hasselbeck get up and grimace after being taken down by guys almost half his age.

Still, Hasselbeck was a clear improvement over Luck for the Colts offense. He wasn’t going to win games almost single-handedly for the team, but he was able to put together competent performance after competent performance.

Credit to Hasselbeck for staying in there for so many games this season, but when things get back to normal there’s no way the Colts don’t roll with Luck.
