3. Bernard Pierce

Bernard Piere was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars last offseason in an effort to add veteran leadership and depth to the running back position. However, Bernard Pierce struggled to stay healthy all season long and he was only active in seven games. Pierce finished the season with six carries for eleven yards and three receptions for seven yards. The Jaguars signed Pierce because it was a low risk situation that could benefit the offense but he struggled to find his niche with the team.

It seems evident that the Jaguars have found their franchise running back in T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson still has one more year left on his contract. The play of recently signed running back Jonas Gray could also be a reason why the Jaguars may decide to move on from Pierce. In only two games, Gray ran for  54 yards on 14 carries which is very encouraging. Jonas Gray is also set to be a free agent this season but I am fairly confident the Jaguars will bring him back because instead of Bernard Pierce because he is only 25 years old and he was very effective in his two games with the team.

Next: Should Gus Bradley be given a pass?

The Jaguars are set to make a lot of moves this offseason,  they have a large amount of cap room remaining that they plan to spend and they have eight picks in the upcoming draft. Letting players go is never an easy decision for any team but I am confident that Zane Beadles, Andre Branch and Bernard Pierce will not be returning to Jacksonville next season.
