The Jacksonville Jaguars get ready for the first preseason game of the year against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday.
"The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Benn has been one of the surprises in camp. The former second-round pick (Tampa Bay) has been impressive on offense and has coaches intrigued by his special teams potential. Benn’s last two training camps (both with Philadelphia) ended with injuries. He tore his ACL in 2013. If Benn can stay healthy over the next four weeks, he has a chance to make the team."
"This will be the first time the Steelers starters will see any significant action this preseason. As Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell and Maurkice Pouncey were all held out of the game on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, that won’t be the case Friday night."
"Last season, the Jaguar backfield combined for 1,300 total yards and eight touchdowns. Expecting that much out of Yeldon in 2015 might be a stretch, but even if he sniffs the ballpark of those numbers, it’ll be a great success for the team. The real victory Yeldon will bring is stabilizing that offense so Bortles can operate comfortably — that will go a long way in setting off the potential this offense really has."
"“I think it’s a mutual kind of relationship,’’ Henne said. “He leans on me and I lean on him. It’s a good friendship and good camaraderie with us. We understand each other.’’Henne will play Friday night in the preseason opener after Bortles plays a quarter or so against Pittsburgh for the first time since he was benched in the third game against Indianapolis last season."
