Allen Robinson continues to get hyped for breakout season

In case you haven’t been paying attention to all the offseason talk, Jacksonville Jaguars 2nd year wide receiver Allen Robinson is getting his hall of fame induction speech ready. Kidding aside, no one on the Jacksonville Jaguars has received quite as much hype as the young pass catcher out of Penn State.

After a quietly impressive rookie campaign ( 48 receptions for 548 yards and 2 touchdowns in only 10 games), Robinson is garnering quite a bit of attention for what has been a terrific offseason. Robinson was without question the star of OTAs and minicamp and the idea of a receiver breaking out is a salivating thought for quarterback Blake Bortles. Adding a stud number 1 receiver to an offense that now features Julius Thomas at tight end and T.J. Yeldon at running back is very promising for a team that has struggled to score points for the past several seasons.

The latest contingent to jump on the hype train is FOX Sports who listed Robinson at #5 among all breakout candidates for 2015:

"Wide receiver Allen Robinson is quickly becoming a favorite in the fantasy football community, and the projections for his 2015 production are getting borderline ridiculous. Can you blame the experts? Robinson has the size and ridiculous leaping ability to emerge as Blake Bortles’ No. 1 target and one of the best young receivers in the NFL."

Despite some of the very optimistic fantasy projections, I doubt Robinson gets drafted very high just because of the stigma of Jaguars’ fantasy players over the past few seasons. Outside of Maurice Jones-Drew, the Jaguars haven’t had a big contributor in the fantasy community.

Still, it’s hard not to get excited about Robinson if he keeps making plays like this in games:

And if he can make plays like this in his second season:
