Jaguars President Mark Lamping Receives Well Deserved Extension
By Luke Sims
Mark Lamping, President of the Jacksonville Jaguars, has received a five-year extension at his position from owner Shahid Khan.
Khan was instrumental in re-vitalizing a franchise that was struggling on the national stage under former owner Wayne Weaver (who had his own accomplishments as well). Mark Lamping is a crucial part of Khan’s vision and execution, overseeing the team and guiding it toward greater heights.
Shad Khan had this to say about the President of the Jaguars:
"Our business performance over the past three years has been remarkable under Mark, and his commitment to the Jacksonville community has been nothing short of spectacular. From growing our brand regionally and internationally, to seeing through our emphasis on improving the game day experience at EverBank Field and much more, Mark has done it all. We’re all very fortunate to have Mark Lamping as our Jaguars team president today and for many more years to come."
The Jaguars a rapidly ascending franchise and too often we overlook Lamping’s hard work to make sure that the Jaguars are going above and beyond simply putting together a strong football team. The Jaguars’ fan experience is second to none, it has major stadium improvements, and the fans have helped create a culture that rivals some of the most storied franchises in the NFL today.
Lamping is an important part of all that.
The Jaguars are here to stay in Jacksonville due in part to the hard work and dedication of Lamping. Stadium blackouts are no longer an issue due to his initiatives and improved fan engagement. His work should be envied by many other NFL teams, even in larger markets.
This extension is very well deserved.
