Fans at EverBank Field get to watch an exciting young quarterback today, and thankfully he plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Before the season, many thought the major headline going into this game would be Cleveland Brown’s first round pick Johnny Manziel, but we’re heading into week 7 and Brian Hoyer is showing no signs of giving up the starting quarterback position.
The Jacksonville Jaguars need to shut down the Brown’s 3rd ranked rushing offense if they have any shot of winning this game. The Browns use their potent rushing attack to set up the play action, and Hoyer has taken advantage of those situations. Depsite only completing 8 passes last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Hoyer had 217 yards through the air and a touchdown. When the Browns do pass, it’s usually for a big gain, and the Jaguars have unfortunately given up their fair share of explosive plays this season. If the defense can contain their rushing attack and get pressure on Hoyer, the Jaguars could pull the upset.
