3 Jaguar Fan Hot Buttons

We’re just about two months out from the first Pre Season game. Two long months. The NBA finals will be over in about a week. And all we have really is baseball to get us by till then. So let’s take a snap shot of a few of my Hot Buttons that are putting the Jags in the spot light right now.
1. Player news- There hasn’t been anything too positive lately. Jason Babin just underwent groin surgery. All signs put him at returning for camp. Then there’s Blackmon getting suspended for four games and MJD’s “situation.” Grrrrr. The latter two are reminiscent of last years Lions, when they couldn’t keep out the headlines if they tried. Are we trying to keep it in the Big Cat kingdom? Let’s just hope these become non issues in a few months. And yes, I know there’s news coming out of the OTAs about different players showing flash. But lets see how things really are once they’re in pads and contact is being made. Once training camp is in full swing I can only hope for a Quarterback controversy to keep me alive for the final month.
2. London? Really? – There’s been a lot of chatter lately about everything from the Jaguars playing a couple of games there each year to the Jaguars relocating there. The good news: It opens up our fan base and market as a whole. The bad news: It would suck to be a Jaguars fan, living in Jacksonville and wanting to see “my team” play. Especially if they’re a Season Ticket holder. My opinion is that this just really got blown out of proportion (Thank You Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post!). Mess with the Jags, you’ll feel the ROAR!
3. Those Helmets- Ok, this is all me. My opinion’s not shared with any fellow representative of this site, as far as I know. The new jerseys are bad a$$, cutting edge and different from any other team in the NFL. The same could be said for the new helmets, had the fade gone about 6 inches further back. It’s right in the middle of the helmet. I was so excited when I seen the concept art. What were they thinking, the middle? While appearing on the Rich Eisen podcast, Dave Dameshek summed it up perfectly, “the Jaguar’s new helmet looks like Skittles that have been left on your dashboard to long and faded in the sun”. I laughed out loud. Not lol, but literally. Well, at least they’re different.
Feel free to chime in with any additional news or issues that’s on your Black and Teal mind. Just be careful of the “T” word. It gets everybody riled up.
