With a win over the Cincinnati Bengals, the Jacksonville Jaguars suddenly got the spotlight. Analysts suddenly began to talk about them as a serious AFC contender. And against the Philadelphia Eagles, they had a prime opportunity to solidify their place as one of the top teams in the league.
The Jaguars struggled with penalties throughout the game. It didn't help that they lost left tackle Anton Harrison to a knee injury. Cornerback Montaric Brown also left the game. Then again, Philly was also dealing with a myriad of injuries, so losing Harrison and Brown wasn't an excuse.
In the end, though, the Jaguars were able to overcome their self-inflicted wounds to win with Cam Little's walk-off field goal. With this in mind, here are 11 instant reactions from the nail-biting 19-17 win over Philly.

11 instant reactions to the Jaguars' win vs. the Eagles in Week 5
1. The opening kickoff resulted in two players being ejected. Rookie Josh Cameron returned the kickoff for a touchdown. During the play, each team had penalties, but both of them were wiped out.
However, Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. and Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. were disqualified for unsportsmanlike penalties once Cameron returned the kickoff.

It's worth noting that the Eagles were without right tackle Lane Johnson, who was active for the game despite the fact that he retired just a few days ago.
2. The Jaguars left much to be desired on their first drive. They had a couple of penalties, a delay of game and a holding by rookie Emmanuel Pregnon. Then, Jalen Carter sacked Trevor Lawrence and forced him to fumble. Jacksonville recovered, but the possession was stalled.
3. After an underwhelming first offensive drive, the Jags did much better on their second possession. Trevor Lawrence found Parker Washington for a massive 51-yard gain to put Jacksonville up 7-0.

Later in the game, Washington scored his second touchdown to put the Jaguars up 16-14. Unfortunately, Cam Little missed the extra point. The former Penn State Nittany Lion finished the bout with six receptions for 124 yards with two touchdowns.
4. Good things don't last forever: The Jaguars gave up their first touchdown in the first half this season when third-string running back Will Shipley reached the end zone on a two-yard run to tie the game 7-7.
5. Trevor Lawrence fumbled again in the second quarter. He didn't get good protection, though. Right tackle Cole Van Lanen wasn't able to contain defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who dislodged the football from Lawrence's hands (for the second time).
After the fumble, Jacksonville was three-and-21. No. 16 overthrew Josh Cameron, and the Jags ended up punting the following play.
6. Montaric Brown gave up a big play, with Jalen Hurts connecting with Darius Cooper for a 62-yard touchdown to put the Eagles up 14-7 in the second quarter. The Lawrence fumble most definitely came back to haunt Jacksonville.
7. The Jaguars were within scoring distance, reaching the Philadelphia end zone. They dodged a massive bullet when running back Chris Rodriguez fumbled near the goal line, but there wasn't a clear recovery. Jacksonville ended up keeping the football after further review, but...
8. Trevor Lawrence looked for Brian Thomas Jr., who could have reeled in the pass for a touchdown but instead dropped it. Bhayshul Tuten got the ball the following play but also fumbled just as the half ended.
Circling back to Thomas, chatter about his drop issues will once resurface after the game.
9. Ross Matiscik left the game early after suffering a shoulder injury and didn't return. The good news is that Jacksonville had a capable fill-in long snapper in DaVon Hamilton, who did an admirable job.
10. Anton Harrison suffered a non-contact injury and was carted off in the third quarter. Walker Little stepped in at left tackle for him.
11. Injuries stalled drives. Even if referees seemed to have favored the Eagles, that's not an excuse. Jacksonville was flagged a concerning 13 times. That's simply too much. Things got so bad that Trevor Lawrence showed his displeasure, tossing the football on the ground because of a delay of game penalty late in the game.
