Jaguars receive 2nd lowest team rating in Madden 16

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been one of the worst teams in the NFL over the last 3 season, at least when it comes to win-loss record. Consequently, the prevailing opinion on the franchise is that it is bereft of talent, which is partially true.

2015 marks a new year and the Jaguars are significantly more talented than in recent seasons. Still, many young players need to prove themselves before catapulting them into Pro Bowl or All Pro consideration.

Consequently, it’s not surprising to see the Jaguars still ranked extremely low in the upcoming iteration of Madden. Here’s a breakdown of the roster from EA Sports:

"JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (TEAM 73 OVR)The Jaguars enter year two of the Blake Bortles (74 OVR) era. Rookie T. J. Yeldon (73 OVR) will battle Denard Robinson (74 OVR) for the starting HB job. Expect a lot of two-TE sets featuring new arrival Julius Thomas (89 OVR) and Marcedes Lewis (81 OVR). The Jags have three young WRs with Allen Robinson (79 OVR), Marqise Lee (74 OVR), and Allen Hurns (73 OVR). The offensive line includes two new additions RT Jermey Parnell (84 OVR) and C Stefen Wisniewski (80 OVR).Exciting rookie RE Dante Fowler (79 OVR) is joined on the defensive line by LE Tyson Alualu (76 OVR), DT Sen’Derrick Marks (87 OVR), and DT Jared Odrick (84 OVR)."

I’m actually somewhat surprised that players like Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson aren’t rated a little bit higher, especially given how well they produced as rookies. EA saw fit to bump up fellow second year receiver Donte Moncrief on the Colts to a 76, so it make sense to give Hurns a similar bump.

The Jaguars have never been a top team to play Madden with at least competitively, but Bortles’ mobility does make a him an intriguing quarterback to use in the context of the game.

What do you guys think about the ratings ?
