Madden NFL Predictions Week 8: Jaguars Lose to Dolphins

The good guys over at Game Sided have been posting the weekly Madden NFL predictions for the NFL game each week. This week Madden picks the Miami Dolphins (3-3) to triumph over the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6). Fortunately for us Jaguars fans, Game Sided’s Madden simulations are just 47-51 so far this season. So, what exactly does Madden NFL Football predict for this game? Let’s dive in.

Miami Dolphins 21, Jacksonville Jaguars 14

From writer Keith Meyers:

"In a game where both teams appeared to by trying to run the clock and shorten the game, there were predictably few scoring opportunities for either team. It didn’t help that there were no big plays, no turnovers, and no long special teams returns. For most of the game, the two team simply took turns driving to midfield and the punting, pinning the the other team deep near their own their endone (sic). Third down conversions were rare, and stringing together enough to put together a long drive proved to be a major challenge for both teams. The thing that put the Dolphins over the top in this game was quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s running ability. Tannehill had 12 runs for 53 yards. He also managed to pick up seven first downs using his legs. It proved to be just enough to allow the Dolphins to assemble one more scoring drive than the Jaguars."

I’m predicting Tannehill to have a rough day against the Jaguars’ defense, so to see him putting up 53 yards rushing in their simulation is a bit disconcerting. However, if the Jaguars are able to keep big plays limited as Madden predicts, then I think the Jags have a good chance of winning this game…well at least better than the simulation predicts. A game with no turnovers would be even better, as Blake Bortles has struggled with interceptions this season.

Overall, it’s a good thing for us Jags fans that their simulations aren’t doing super hot this season.
