Reggie Williams Arrested For Possesion of Marijuana and DWI

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Two hours after the start of Free Agency, former Jaguars receiver Reggie Williams was arrested in Houston for possesion of marijuana and a DWI.  Not exactly the way that you want to put yourself out on the market is it Reggie?  Since this is his second DWI, Reggie Williams will face a 4 game suspension whenever another team picks him up.  Or should I say, if another team picks him up.   http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/090227_williams_arrested_houston

Fred Taylor Signed By The New England Patriots

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

The greatest Jaguar player ever, Fred Taylor, has signed with the New England Patriots according to Adam Shefter at NFL.com.  He made visits to both Buffalo and New England last week and decided to go with the team that had a better of getting to the Super Bowl. Good luck Fred.  Run hard because this is your audition for the NFL Hall of Fame.  Unfortunately we will have to face Fred next year at New England, something no Jaguar fan should be looking forward to.

Jaguars To Draft Quarterback?

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: None Yet

Both Sports Illustrated and NFL.com posted post-combine mock drafts today. They also both predicted that the Jaguars, with the eighth overall pick, will draft a quarterback. However, they did not agree on which quarterback the Jaguars would select. Yes, I know what you’re probably thinking. There is not only one but two possible quarterbacks the Jaguars could pick up instead of addressing critical needs? Really? Sports Illustrated had the Jaguars picking up Mark Sanchez out of USC. I am not shocked to see some one predicting us to draft a guy out of USC, especially when you consider the stock they have put up [...]

NFL Scouting Combine Is Under Way, But Where Is Andre Smith?

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: None Yet

This is the weekend where all of the college players looking to be drafted merge on Indianapolis to show the NFL Scouts what they are made of.  For the Jaguars, LT is one of the most glaring needs and with 4 top tier LT in this year’s draft, the chances of one of them being available at the #8 pick is pretty high. But one of those 4 prospects has decided to skip the workouts declaring that he was not in appropriate shape?  Not in shape for the combine?  Didn’t you mark this day on your calender?  He says that [...]

Thoughts on Fred Taylor

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Yeah, no one wants to hear the thoughts of a sports blogger. Who cares what she thinks, right? Well, it is the off season and I can get away with it. I was teaching my sixth graders today. We get the Florida Times Union for the class and I was giving them out to kids who finished their work. The front-page article was about Fred Taylor. “I was ten years old when Fred Taylor started with the Jaguars,” I told them. Then I realized they were babies when Fred Taylor started with the Jaguars. Sixth grade students studying poetry were [...]

End of an Era: Jaguars Release Fred Taylor

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The most famous and arguably greatest player in Jacksonville Jaguars’ history, Fred Taylor, will be released today by the team.  Word is that a restructured contract could not be worked on between Taylor and the team as he was due to make $6 million next season. After 11 years with the Jaguars, Fred Taylor accumulated 11,271 yards placing him 16th on the all time rushing list.  My hope is that a big market team will sign Fred Taylor so he can put the icing on a fantastic career and let him get into the Hall of Fame. One thing is [...]

Jerry Porter and Drayton Florence Cut

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: None Yet

The two big time free agent signings by the Jaguars last offseason are no more as the Jaguars have released WR Jerry Porter and CB Drayton Florence.   Both players severly underperformed, whether it be injury on the part of Porter or lack of ability to adapt to the Jaguars defensive scheme by Florence.  But the real reason these two players were cut from the team was due to their negative effect on the Jaguars’ team chemistry.  Jaguars veterans resented their large contracts based on relatively small bodies of work and the team never got over that. It is refreshing [...]

The Jaguars Are Undefeated

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: None Yet

With the Pro Bowl coming to a conclusion, the off season is upon us. Though we must all brace ourselves for endless speculations, draft spectulation and trade rumors until August, there is something that the off season brings. Today, the Jaguars are undefeated. How long will that last? With the new addition of Mel Tucker at defensive coordinator, some don’t think that title will last for long.  Many people, including one of our own writers here, doubt the hire of Mel Tucker. He came from the Browns who had one of the worst defenses in the league. I still haven’t [...]

Super Bowl Predicition | The Cards Steal One From The Steelers

AUTHOR: | IN: Jaguars | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

So today is the big game, the Super Bowl, the Arizona Cardinals vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.  The question is who; will win?   There are many Super Bowls where the favored team takes care of business and puts their under dog opponents away.  Super Bowl XXXIII (Broncos 34 – Falcons 19) and XXXV (Ravens 34 – Giants 7) are the most most recent games to come to mind.  But then their are the games that surprise us all like last year’s upset or the Patriots knocking off the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI.  The hard part is figuring out if [...]
