The Jacksonville Jaguars find themselves in a must-win situation. Sure, you could argue that all games are important, but losing to the New England Patriots could potentially be the straw that broke the camels' back.

Currently, the Jags are 1-5, and losing to the Pats would decrease their chances of turning things around. Similarly, it may lead owner Shad Khan to finally pull the plug on head coach Doug Pederson, who's seemingly on the hot seat.

Working in the Jags' favor is that they're facing the 1-5 Patriots. Sure, their defense is one of the worst in the league but they'll be facing one of the worst offenses in the league. Add the fact that they'll face an inexperienced rookie in Drake Maye, and Jacksonville is in a position to avoid catastrophe.

Now, winning won't automatically solve all the team's issues but it would be a step in the right direction. For his part, Trevor Lawrence is taking it one game at a time and hopes the Jaguars can build up momentum with a win.

"I've played long enough to know it doesn't really matter how you play every team," Lawrence told the media ahead of Week 7. "Every team in this league is a good team and can beat you. It doesn't matter what their record are, what the record is, how well they played in the past. It's Any Given Sunday, so for us, it's taking it one week at a time."

Lawrence is aware that the team's window is quickly closing but they cannot think ahead before taking care of business against the Patriots.

"We do have to find a way to win this game this week because we have to get some momentum going in the right direction. We can't let this keep going in the wrong direction and keep losing.
The season is moving quickly, and we need to win some games to get ourselves back in position. So we understand what we have to do. But you can't jump ahead," Lawrence said.

"We got to just try to take care of business this week and then next week, we'll move on to whoever you say — I guess Packers next week — That'll come when it gets here. You get in trouble when you start looking ahead. And I just think that it's too hard to win in this league, to look ahead and think about who you got to be, what's coming up, how many games you got to win to get there, or whatever. You just got to try to win one every week."

Here's Lawrence's full exchange with the media in case you want to give it a look.
