What channel is the Jets-Jaguars game on today? Starting time, announcers & more
The Jacksonville Jaguars have been severely hampered by injuries this season. So far, they lost Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, Trevor Lawrence, and more recently, tight end Evan Engram, who was placed on Injured Reserve ahead of Week 15.
Head coach Doug Pederson, for one, acknowledges the team hasn't been lucky when it comes to injuries. That said, he knows the show must go on and the next player must step up.
"Probably not to the extent that we lost Christian, Gabe, Trevor, Evan, it's tough," Pederson told the local media Friday when asked to what extent injuries have held Jacksonville back in 2024. "It's tough. But, again, it's unfortunate, we can't make excuses for it. It's part of the part of the game. But it's a great opportunity for the next guy,"
Pederson goes on to say that the Jaguars that getting struck by injuries is never pleasant, but they give other players a chance to show what they can do.
"I just know that football is a tough sport, violent sport, and injuries are going to happen. It's part of the game. The guys play tough and physical, and they play hard, and that's what I ask, and that's what they do. They put their bodies on the line every single week, and stuff like this happens. But again, I think the positive to it is guys like Brenton [Strange], and Parker Washington. You got guys like Mac, just get opportunities to really showcase themselves and play well," Pederson said.
Speaking of Brenton Strange, he'll be filling in for Evan Engram, who landed on IR ahead of the game and will get season-ending surgery on his shoulder.
This will be Strange's fifth start of the season, and the Jags will need him to come through if they want to beat the New York Jets in Week 15.
